UK dormitories in red phase
ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2020, THE PERMANENT CRISIS TEAM OF COMENIUS UNIVERSITY MET AND, IN VIEW OF THE EVOLUTION OF THE EPIDEMIOLOGICAL SITUATION IN BRATISLAVA, AS WELL AS IN THE DORMITORIES L. STUR – MLYNY AND THE UNIVERSITY DORMITORY DRUZBA, DECIDED THAT BOTH COMPLEXES WERE MOVING INTO THE RED PHASE WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT.
Those who are accommodated can continue to stay in dorms and use canteens. However, in addition to the safety and hygiene measures in force so far, other measures had to be taken to minimise students' social contacts. Today, the ban on visits between accommodation blocks applies, the number of persons present in the room must not exceed the room capacity and the capacity of the study rooms is reduced to half of the original number. At the same time, there is a total ban on the meetings and gatherings of persons in the interior and exterior of the dormitory area and observance of the night rest from 22.00 p.m. to 7 a.m. We strongly do not recommend visits between rooms and if the situation deteriorates further will ban visits between rooms.
Hygiene and safety measures that have been in place in dormitories for several months, are underestimated by some accommodated persons and their irresponsible behavior, in particular gathering in the evening, endangers the health of themselves and others. In the event of non-compliance with the regulations, the accommodated may face a fine of EUR 79. In the event of repeated violations of the regulations, they will be excluded from dormitories.
We appreciate and thank all responsible students and staff who follow the measures and show a healthy dose of empathy and solidarity.
